The Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 is a premium winter tyre designed for off-road vehicles and passenger cars. This tyre provides reliable grip on any type of surface and effectively handles obstacles such as deep, loose snow or thick ice crusts. The tyre has been in production since 2014, and the manufacturer has conducted many tests and trials on this winter tyre. It has demonstrated excellent results in all conditions, making it suitable for extreme driving in winter off-road situations.
Advantages of the Blizzak DM-V2 winter tyre:
- Improved handling thanks to a wider contact patch area on a flat tread profile.
- Grip on all surfaces due to the directional tread pattern and moisture-absorbing Multi-Cell Compound.
- Durability due to the multi-layer sidewall structure and reinforced tread shoulders.
To ensure solid traction, the Blizzak DM-V2’s tread is designed with snow traps and a system of intersecting channels. One standout feature is the angle of the drainage grooves, specifically designed to quickly clear away water and slush. The wide blocks in the tread’s shoulder areas have notches that boost grip, even in deep snow. Plus, the number of sipes (those little slits in the tread) has been increased for even better performance. These sipes not only add stiffness and grip but also allow the tread pattern to go as deep as 10mm without affecting handling.
The tyre also uses an updated version of the Multi-Cell Compound, which absorbs moisture from the road even more efficiently. This upgrade dramatically improves grip on icy surfaces, especially in lighter frosts down to -5 degrees Celsius. And if you're worried about a long break-in period, don't be! The Blizzak DM-V2 only needs about 200 kilometres to activate all the micropores, compared to the 2,000 kilometres it took with the previous model.
